Solidarity Gathering with a U.S. Hands Off Cuba Committee Delegation
Esperanza along with Oppressed Revolutionaries for Worker Power, Vets About Face, Southwest Workers Union, and individuals in solidarity with Cuba are hosting a fundraiser/gathering with a delegation from U.S. Hands Off Cuba Committee. The delegation is making its way from L.A. through San Antonio to Cuba to drop off much needed PainKillers.
Join us in welcoming them with a solidarity gathering where we get to know each other, raise some funds for their important initiative, learn more about Cuba’s dire situation imposed by the US government’s genocidal blockade and the bogus relisting of the island on the State Sponsorship of Terrorism List, and build a Cuba solidarity bloc here in town.
The LA U.S. Hands Off Cuba Committee – working with ELAM graduates in Los Angeles, local physicians, Not Just Tourists, and Global Health Partners – have launched a one-month campaign to collect pediatric and general ER medical supplies in Southern California, truck them to New Orleans, and ship them to Cuba.
This is the first of more than 100,000 painkillers being sent as part of the emergency campaign by LA Hands-Off Cuba committee and partners. The campaign includes a massive truck
shipment to New Orleans and then to Cuba in late January.
MORE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE NEEDED TO FILL THE TRUCK WITH PAIN KILLERS.

Event Parking is available at San Antonio College Lot #28 on the corner of Evergreen St. and Maverick St. The Esperanza entrance is on Evergreen St.
There is additional parking for persons with physical disabilities at the Planned Parenthood Parking Lot next to the Esperanza off of San Pedro Avenue. Permits are available inside at the sign-in table.
