Non-Profit Ready Course
This set of online training courses is required by our City Arts grant contract every 3 years.
Required officers: Executive Director and Conjunto Co-Chairs, Treasurer, & Secretary.
Due date: April 10
If you can complete by Thursday, please do – but there’s no penalty if you go beyond the deadline.
STEP 1. Click here and create a Nonprofit Ready user account, using your personal email. Then return to this page for steps 2 and 3.
If your old Nonprofit Ready account is still active from the last time, you’ll need to use a different email and create a new account (in order to log the same courses again).
STEP 2. When you are logged in to the Nonprofit Ready website, follow the links below for all 7 courses, and on each landing page, click the “Launch” or “Open Curriculum” button to add them to your Nonprofit Ready “Transcript”
1. Board Roles and Responsibilities (3 min) – Video Page
2. Financial Info and Your Board (4 min) – Video Page
3. Why Diversity Matters for Nonprofits (16 min) – Video Page
4. Nonprofit Board Member Essentials Certificate (2 hrs & 30 min) – Course Page
______________
5. Introduction to Unconscious Bias (35 min) – Course Page
6. Addressing Your Unconscious Bias (35 min) – Course Page
7. Support an Inclusive Culture (1 hr & 15 min) – Course Page
STEP 3. Return to your Transcript via the menu item “View My Learning,” and complete the courses. (Or you can link from this page.) There’s no need to save individual course completion certificates. You’ll share your final Transcript page as proof of completion of all seven courses.
There are two types of courses:
A) YouTube Videos (embedded on page), which you manually mark as complete. (Note: You can speed up YouTube videos by clicking on the player’s <Gear> symbol for “settings” and adjusting the “Playback Speed” to 1.25 or 1.5 or 1.75. But I recommend normal speed for the first two short videos, which are dense with useful information.)
B) Interactive Courses, where you will click through the presentations slide by slide. They are broken up into multiple mini-courses. When you finish the last slide of each mini-course, it will be automatically marked as completed. (Refresh course or transcript page to show updated status.) Times listed are estimates only. You can flip through slides as fast or slow as you like. For video slides, turn on “auto-play” to move more quickly. Links and quiz slides are usually optional, and you don’t need to answer correctly to move forward.
STEP 4. Once all 7 courses are competed, go back to your Transcript via the menu item “View My Learning.” Show your completed courses by choosing “Completed” under the Filter by Training Status dropdown. Click the 3 dots [•••] at the upper right and choose “Export to PDF.” Email your PDF to finance@esperanzacenter.org, so I can forward to the City Arts Department.
