El Mero Weso: Heritage, Inequality, & Gentrification in San Anto’s Westside

Please join the Esperanza Peace & Justice Center and Westside Preservation Alliance for a special program presented in conjunction with our Los Courts Exhibit at the San Antonio Public Library Central Library Branch.

Gentrification is often referred to as “neighborhood revitalization,” but what impacts does it have on low-income residents in the forms of physical displacement, segregation, and the erasure of local cultures?

Join this conversation about the important role of heritage and inequality within gentrification processes and what community members on the front-lines are doing to mitigate its effects.
