DESCRIPTION:Come check out our latest Westside exhibit at Casa de Cuentos! Photos displayed are part of our En Aquellos Tiempos Collection. Exhibit photos showcase San Antonio from the early 1900s to the mid-1950s. This is part of a larger exhibit shown in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our En Aquellos Tiempos: Fotohistorias project. \nCome see what San Antonio was like in years past! Exhibit opens during our annual Paseo por El Westside festival and will stay up through Summer 2018. \nHours at Casa de Cuentos vary. Open every 2nd Saturday of the month\, 9:30am-12pm. \n Please call 210.228.0201 for daily hours or to schedule a visit.

SUMMARY:Paseo Por El Westside 2018
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Westside of San Antonio’s history\, culture and people with the Paseo por El Westside on Saturday\, April 7 at the Rinconcito de Esperanza (816 S. Colorado). This event is intergenerational at the core with activities for all ages. The event will include fotobanner tours through the Westside\, workshops\, demos\, food\, and live music. \nThe community will also get a chance to visit the newest building on the Rinconcito property\, which is an adobe (compressed earth block) building that is used as a studio for MujerArtes\, our women’s clay cooperative. In the summer of 2016\, the women of MujerArtes learned how to create the compressed earth blocks and helped build the building; they were instrumental in the design process. \nAdmission is free and the event is open to the public as well as family friendly. Food concessions will be available for purchase.\nThe whole family is invited whether they were born and raised in the Westside or simply enjoy cultural festivities honoring San Antonio’s heritage! \nWant to donate to help us cover the costs of the festivities or volunteer to help on the day of the event?
