SUMMARY:The Present Film Screening & Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a screening of the BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) winning short film The Present by Farah Nabulsi. The screening will be followed by a community discussion facilitated by members of San Antonio for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace – San Antonio. \nThis event is free and open to the public. Registration is restricted to 30 guests to respect capacity limits within social distancing safety measures. \nThe film screening and discussion is now SOLD OUT!\nThank you all for your interest. We are limiting the number of people to respect social distancing. \nThe film is 25 minutes long. RSVP for this screening and discussion of the award winning short film\, The Present\, by Farah Nabulsi. At this event you will have the opportunity to learn and share about Palestine through a guided conversation about the film. \nThe Present is around 25 minutes long and will be hosted indoors at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center. Temperature checks will be taken at the door and all attendees are asked to wear face masks. \nThe Jewish Voice for Peace San Antonio Chapter\, San Antonio for Justice in Palestine\, and the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center are partnering for this event. \nSynopsis: On his wedding anniversary\, Yusef and his young daughter set out in the West Bank to buy his wife a gift. Between soldiers\, segregated roads and checkpoints\, how easy would it be to go shopping? \nAbout the director: Farah Nabulsi is a Palestinian-British filmmaker and first-time director. She left the corporate world in 2015 to start working in the Palestinian film industry as a writer & producer of short fiction films\, exploring Palestine related topics that matter to her.
