SUMMARY:Plaza Guadalupe Community Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, September 25 | 6pm-8pm\nGuadalupe Plaza\, 1327 Guadalupe St\, San Antonio\, TX 78207 \n======\nThe City of San Antonio will be hosting another meeting on September 25th to help further the vision for Plaza Guadalupe.\n====== \nHave you caught up on the latest Guadalupe Plaza Fence piece?\nCheck out the latest San Antonio Express-News editorial:\n“Fence needs to come down at Guadalupe Plaza” ➡️ https://www.mysanantonio.com/opinion/editorials/article/Fence-needs-to-come-down-at-Guadalupe-Plaza-13142166.php \n“Two years is no one’s idea of temporary. But that’s roughly how long a “temporary” chain-link fence has wrapped around Guadalupe Plaza on the city’s West Side. It needs to come down. And\, as the temporary fence foreshadows plans for a permanent fence\, city officials\, community leaders and West Side residents need to think long and hard about these plans. We don’t think fencing around Guadalupe Plaza makes sense. A plaza is an open space for the public. A fence that closes off the space to the public makes it the opposite.” \nCheck out this editorial and make sure to attend Tuesday’s meeting to let the city know that the fence must come down and the plaza should remain open and accessible to the community! Our public spaces should not be privatized 🙅🏽‍♀️\n=====\nNote: The Esperanza Center is NOT hosting this meeting.
