DESCRIPTION:This month’s Noche Azul Concert theme is Corridos\, and you’ll have two opportunities to join us – Saturday\, November 18\, at 8 PM (doors open at 7:30) and Sunday\, November 19\, at 3 PM (doors open at 2:30 PM). \n“The Corrido” obtained its definitive shape during the Mexican Revolution; this traditional musical narrative continued to evolve to embrace different people\, places\, times\, and stories. Corridos told tales of revolutionary figures and their exploits and charted the course of daily life in a country inflamed by conflict. \nAzul Barrientos will be performing some of the most traditional corridos of Mexico and she says: “we learn how a corrido is still a strong tool to listen to the stories that have been passed down to us that maybe we didn’t hear\, or we didn’t read in the history books.” \nTickets are $7 más o menos at the door or at esperanza.eventbrite.com \nSeating is limited and is on a first come first served basis. \nSeating begins 30 min before show: \n(Sat. @ 7:30PM\, Sun. @ 2:30PM) \nConcessions will be available for purchase. \nElevator available for access to 2nd floor performance space. \nCall 210-228-0201 for more information. \n\nEvent Parking is available at San Antonio College Lot #28 on the corner of Evergreen St. and Maverick St. The Esperanza entrance is on Evergreen St. \n \nThere is additional parking for persons with physical disabilities at the Planned Parenthood Parking Lot next to the Esperanza off of San Pedro Avenue. Permits are available inside at the sign-in table.
