DESCRIPTION:Saturday May 20\, we held a workshop about the San Antonio ordinances limiting free speech and access to public gatherings on streets\, sidewalks and in the airport. There was interest and energy from the community members who showed up to revive the Free Speech Coalition that was active starting in 2006 and to start organizing once again against these ordinances. There has been a City Council Consideration Request filed to re-examine those ordinances. BUT we as community decided that WE need to be the ones coming up with changes to/a new ordinance. \nJoin us for a community update meeting Saturday August 19\, starting at 10 AM at the Esperanza\, 922 San Pedro Ave. to continue the next steps on organizing around this issue. \nCheck out the Free Speech Coalition in the news! https://therivardreport.com/council-to-consider-changes-to-free-speech-permits-bidding-process-infill-zoning/ \nIf you or an organization you are a part of want to join the Free Speech Coalition\, please let us know! \nThere is a community sub-committee meeting to work on drafting a new ordinance.
