DESCRIPTION:Esperanza Peace and Justice Center invites you to ‘Westside Stories del Barrio\,’ this Friday December 16\, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. \n‘Westside Stories del Barrio’ bears witness to the resiliency and beauty of the Westside of San Antonio. ‘Westside Stories del Barrio’ affirms the powerful voices and visions of Westside residents who have been impacted by racism\, patriarchy\, poverty\, gentrification\, and ongoing violence of all forms. \nYou may reserve your free tickets at esperanza.eventbrite.com. \nThis event is part of our Escuelita de Paz y Justicia’s end of semester projects where each student or group will share their art\, writing\, oral history\, photography\, or ongoing research investigation with the public. \nEscuelita de Paz y Justicia is a community school that was created with the purpose of transforming our community at the grassroots level by offering educational classes rooted in a social justice and ethnic studies framework and via community organizing skills sharing\, healing centered gatherings\, cultural preservation\, and political empowerment. \nEscuelita de Paz y Justicia exists as a partnership between of the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center and UTSA’s Democratizing Racial Justice Project\, with funding by The Mellon Foundation.
