DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of art and information.\nStarting with an opening reception for the art exhibit “From Here y De Allá: Reflections on Elizabeth Catlett Mora – an African American artist who embraced Mexico.” This exhibit is a collaboration with the San Antonio Ethnic Arts Society and features fifteen works of seventeen SAEAS members inspired by Elizabeth Catlett’s work and activism — showcasing a diverse range of creativity and artistry. \nThanks to collectors Paula and Edwin Miles\, the exhibition will display prints by other well-known African-American artists\, including Jacob Lawrence\, Margaret Burroughs\, Faith Ringgold\, George Hunt\, and Frank Frazier. \nArt Opening Reception\, 5:30PM–9PM\nExhibition continues thru September 30\, Mon – Fri\, 11AM–7PM \nLive Zoom Broadcast\nLater\, there will be a live Spanish\, zoom broadcast by Cecilia Santacruz Langagne\, “The Role of the African American Artist\, Elizabeth Catlett\, in Modern Mexico”. In-person English translations will be provided by Cecilia Sánchez Duarte. Permits are available inside at the sign-in table.
